As of Android v2021.5 and iOS v2021.7, snap-to-trail routing is now available even when you are offline.

Download Offline Routing Data
To use snap-to-trail routing while offline, you must download the route data in advance. Toggle on offline route data when downloading a new map or creating a route.

Verify that route data is downloaded
You can confirm that you've downloaded routing data for a particular region by checking your existing map downloads.
- Tap Saved > Select Maps from the Saved menu filter
- Tap on the name of a map
- Offline routing data will be listed on the map detail's screen

Adding route data to an existing map download (iOS Only)
On iOS, you can download offline routing data for an existing map download by following these steps:
- Tap Saved > select Maps from the Saved menu filter
- Tap on the name of a map
- Tap More > select Download Offline Routing Data.
