This article will show you how to archive and unarchive data and recover data deleted from the app.
- If you accidentally deleted something from the app, you can recover it by unarchiving it, as long as your data was synced before you deleted it.
- Deleting data from gaiagps.com also deletes it from your devices, and the data cannot be recovered.
- Archiving data allows you to remove data from the app without permanently deleting it.
- Archived data is removed from your device and saved to your web account. You can then unarchive it, and sync it back to your device when you need it.
- If you are noticing data missing from your mobile device, log onto gaiagps.com and ensure that Mobile Sync is toggled 'ON' for the data you wish to see.
Archive Data from the Website
1. Log in to your account on www.gaiagps.com.
2. From the drop down menu under your profile image, choose the data type (e.g., Tracks, Routes, Waypoints, Maps) you are looking for.
3. Archive data by clicking the 'archive' button at the top. You can also mass select data to archive by using the checkboxes on the left side of the data list.
If you hit the checkbox next to 'Title,' this will select ALL data, even on multiple pages. If you wish to only select a page of data at a time, you will have to individually select each piece of data you wish to archive.
Note: Toggling mobile sync to OFF will remove the selected data from all devices synced with gaiagps.com. The data will not be deleted unless you hit the 'deletion' icon at the top. Archiving the data will remove the data from the main map on gaiagps.com.
Unarchive/Restore Data from the website
Note: you can only unarchive data from the website. It's not possible to unarchive data from the mobile app.
1. Log in to your account at www.gaiagps.com.
2. From the drop down menu under your profile image, choose the data type (e.g., Tracks, Routes, Waypoints, Maps) you are looking for.
3. Click the "Show Archived" button in the upper right (see picture below).
4. This will show the items you've archived. Select the data you wish to unarchive and select 'Unarchive.' You can choose to toggle Mobile Sync from 'ON' to 'OFF' to keep the data on gaiagps.com but not sync the data to your mobile device.
