1. From the My Routes page on gaiagps.com, select the saved route you wish to edit or add waypoints to.
2. On the data summary page for your route, you can edit the name of the route by clicking the current title.
3. To edit the route or add waypoints, click the "Edit Route" option.
4. To modify the current route, click along the route to add a route point. Then you can drag any section of the route or any of the route points.
5. Adding waypoints to your route by clicking any of the current routepoints and then select the "Name Waypoint" icon.
- Clicking anywhere along the route will create a new routepoint.
6. Name your waypoints, set a custom icon, or add notes to your waypoint in the Waypoint section of the Route Builder menu.
7. Click "Save" to save your edits.

when i hit edit i have a "line" that seems to want me to draw more or extent my route. if i click anywhere i lose a large chunk of my route. Also the waypoints are not always visible as circles when i hit edit! any help is appreciated.
@leahwasser
I'm sorry you are unable to edit your route and I noticed you also emailed support.
I have responded to your email with more information, but for future reference, the dashed line is just a guide for extending the route and you can edit any other section of your route by dragging and dropping the route. Sorry for the confusion.
I am having trouble editing a route - I can't move around the map. If I use my mouse to zoom (either scroll or click the +/-), the map jumps to hundreds of miles away.
Here is a screen shot. You can see the waypoints I used for the route are disconnected from the route
I am trying to move my waypoints (and end of route segments) to align with a property line. I want to align the purple route to the yellow property line. See screenshot.
Hmm, after leaving the map for a while to write this posting, then returning to the map, the "click, drag" just started working.
After modifying some points and then returning to Edit, I still get this messed up view - is that intentional?
Is there a maximum number allowed for waypoints in a route? I seem to loose waypoints that I add.

You can move the map around by clicking and holding on the map. Please let me know if you experience the same issue when using the '+' and '-' buttons to zoom instead of the mouse zoom.

No, this is not international and looks like there was a delay in page loading. Please let me know if this is still happening.

There is not a limit to the number of waypoints you can add to a route.
If you are still missing waypoints or they continue to disconnect from your route, please click “Submit a Request” option above to contact support directly and someone will get back with you shortly.
I can't edit my route. The GAIA interface is really confusing and frustrating. When I click edit, the dotted line comes shooting out of some random point in the middle of my route, not the end of my route. If I click on my route, instead of creating a new route point along the route, it places a new end route point and then draws some random convoluted route to get there.
Even stranger, if I move that new point, it's like there's a new route on top of my existing route. I don't know how to explain it. It just makes no sense.
I'm a relatively new user, but don't think I'll be sticking around. The UX is awful. Confusing. Features don't work correctly (ie: snap to trail). When I want to edit a route, I simply delete my old route and redraw it because editing never works correctly.
Very frustrating and disappointing.
@rwyatt
I'm sorry there is an issue when editing your routes. Can you click “Submit a Request” above and include a copy of the route so one of the support team members can take a look?
The Snap-to-Trail feature runs off the trails marked on the Gaia Topo layer and I recommend using it when snapping a route along a trail. If the route is not snapping to a trail on Gaia Topo, please let me know the coordinates of where you're working.
Submitted. Yes, the trail is on the Gaia Topo layer. When you say copy, do you want me to export the route or include the public link? I included the public link because I didn't know how to report on issues with a specific route.
@rwyatt
Thanks, I saw your email and the link to your route will work.
Edit Route seems to not work for several months now. After adding many waypoints to a route, then going back in to Edit the route, I only have Start and End waypoints. There is no way to edit the route, which is otherwise still the correct route, but with only two waypoints. Any click anywhere along the route of course ruins the route, since Gaia then only sees the Start + New Midpoint + End waypoints and simply draws a completely new out-and-back route. Very strange.
(I've read feedback to other similar reports in recent months. "Waypoint" overlay is definitely "on" since I do still see the icons for those two start/end waypoints. I have already submitted a request, above.)
New user here, and I have that exact same problems ... :-(
Editing a route (new or existing one) should be easy !
@dantegd
I'm sorry you are having an issue editing your routes. I noticed you also sent us an email and Chris has responded to your question.
@hielo.patagonia.sounds
There is a bug that is affecting how routes are saved when using Firefox to access gaiagps.com. We are working on updates for the routing engine and in the meantime, I recommend using Chrome to create/edits routes on gaiagps.com.
Thank you, Nathan, for letting us know when this works on Firefox.
(Seems to work fine on IE as well today.)
