Premium Members can import .mbtiles and GeoTIFF files into Gaia GPS. This feature lets you use a variety of custom maps and data in Gaia GPS.
Note: After importing an MBTiles or GeoTIFF map, it can be downloaded for offline use.
Importing MBTiles and GeoTiff into the iOS app
1. Tap the Saved folder icon
2. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner
3. Select Import File
4. Navigate to where the MBTiles or GeoTIFF file is saved on your device (in this example they are saved to iCloud)
5. Tap the file you wish to import
5. The imported file will appear in the Layers menu
Note: The app will allow you to import up to 4 GB of MBtiles, but files over 100 MB will not sync. There is currently a file size limit of 104.9 MB for GeoTIFF files.
MBTiles file imports are only supported when the internal tile data is in JPEG or PNG format. Vector data in formats such as PBF (Google Protocol Buffers) is unsupported.
