    The Backroad MapBooks layer can be found within the Premium Base Map section of the Layers menu (iOS/Android).

    Are these the sheet maps from BRMB in digital form? if so what is the pricing structure? I have a few of these purchased and downloaded for another navigation app. They were $3 per map. Or is this the create your own maps that can be built in the BRMB app? Maps are free to create but it costs a monthly subscription.

    Yes, the BRMB layer is the digital version of their paper maps.

    You can access the BRMB map layer along with the other premium base maps and overlays in the Gaia GPS app or on gaiagps.com with a Premium Membership. Check out this link for our current deals: Gaia GPS Discounts.

    The BRMB layer was published for use within Gaia GPS and includes unlimited offline map downloads.

    I am not sure at all that they are the exact paper version. All I see are the roads with no landmark symbols, no services like camping, etc. It seems to be a dumb down version unless I am missing something?

    Can you let me know the coordinates of the areas you are referring to so I can look into this?

    Per example, you can look at

    Lat: 50.79950
    Lon: -114.83350

    It is  waypoint I put there but there is a campground right beside it. In fact, Kananaskis is a provincial park and there are tons of camping, serices, etc. I see none of this on the map. I have seen the books and they are very detailed.

    Thanks for the coordinates. We are working on a new BRMB Canada Trails overlay which is filed in the Premium Overlays section of the map catalog. Currently, this contains trail information - I'll look into POI data.

    It would be really awesome if we could get the same POI data on the app as they do in their paper version, finding camping spots is great with their POI's in the paper version.

    Any update on this? One of the main reasons I purchased Gaia premium was for the BRMB layer. The POI's (campsites etc.) Are what make the paper BRMB so good. Please add these!

    Thanks for posting - we are still working with BRMB Canada to see if we can make this information available within the app.

    @Robyn

    Any update on this? They are still missing and it was one of the main reasons why i got a premium subscription. Will likely cancel it if these don't get implemented

    How often is this map updated? I see on the BRMB website that their 2020 version is released. Is that what we get in Gaia? When I go out in the woods, it seems to me the trail info is way outdated.

    @david,

    The BRMB layers in Gaia GPS reflect the latest March 2020 update.

    If you have previously downloaded sections of the BRMB maps to your device, you can follow these steps to update them: Updating Maps in the Gaia GPS App.
