Selecting places for download

When searching for a place, i.e. Inyo National Forest on www.gaigps.com, and then sending the map to your phone/tablet is the area that is downloaded specifically the boundaries of the forest or is it a rectangular area that encompasses the forest and everything else within the rectangle?

When you search for a place on the web site the place then gets highlighted on the map.  The place, if its a forest or park, usually has jagged boundaries and may not be contiguous.

Now, go to your phone/tablet and go into your saved map screen.  Select the saved map, in this case Inyo Natl Forest, you will see a map of an area much larger than Inyo NF and then a red rectangle over an area considerably larger than the boundaries of Inyo NF.

  When using the Send to App feature, the offline map will always be a square or rectangle that encompasses the place or trail in your search results. 

  If you find this produces too large of an offline map, you can manually select the area to download in the app (iOS/Android).
