location arrow and start of red guide line not in sync

Yesterday in the mountains my android gaiagps app was not behaving.   The location arrow was often not at the start of the red guide line where it's supposed to be.  If I closed the app and reopened it, they would line up again.  Also, when I selected a waypoint and hit 'guide me", it would take a few minutes for the bearing and ETA to appear.  Today, walking around my driveway, things work fine.

I was in the trees and may have had poor coverage, but I can't see how that would explain this behavior.

  It sounds like you had a poor GPS signal. You can improve your device's GPS accuracy by adjusting your Location Services mode to Device/GPS only. You can also check your current GPS signal strength by tapping the satellite icon on the Trip menu (Android/iOS).
