You can leave a comment on one of their recent public tracks, and they'll get notified through gaiagps.com & email.

FYI we're looking at several different ideas to make connecting with other users easier, it's definitely something we need to explore!

    Thanks! Will explore that option.

A simple solution that would also save keystrokes would be to add an icon on the Profile page "Add a Friend Request".

That would save one having to open a hike, dive down to Comments, etc.

I too need a method to contact other members.  But for other reasons.

Last year a member shared a route around the Olympic Peninsula with me.  I've gone through it and made edits to a new copy for myself (I didn't have edit credentials for his file).  Now that I'm done.....I can't get rid of his route from my page in gaiagps.com.  I turned toggle sync off (but it doesn't stay off....wth?) so it doesn't show up on my iPad.

I've tried simply deleting the folder, but that doesn't work.  I tried deleting the individual routes, but that doesn't work either.  I can't delete the waypoints individually either.

In searching the help files and comments, it appears the only way to get his data off my map is to have him withdraw his share with me......but there is no way for me to reach him.....LOL.

Can you admin people maybe go into my data on your end and sever the share link between he and I for that folder he shared with me?

The folder name is "Oly Loop 2015 Standard.gpx"

Removing a shared folder from your account can be done in the app:

    • From the Saved menu, tap the down caret next to the folder's name and select “Leave Folder”

    • From the folder's detail page, tap the Action icon and then select “Leave Folder”

    Holy cow!  That was it.

Someone at Gaia may want to update this thread,

    https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115012281267-Using-Shared-Folders

As it specifically states, "The administrator/creator of the shared folder can remove a user in order to remove the folder from the user's account."

No where does it give these steps.  That was simple.

    Thanks!
