I'm sorry for the confusion. You can still visit gaiagps.com to view and manage your data.

To transfer your data to the new app, sign in with the same email you used in the classic version of Gaia GPS and then Gaia GPS will automatically transfer your data and maps over.

I am a new and happy user of Gaia GPS.  Here are two comments:

    • The desktop program (Windows 10) is less functional than the Android in that I cannot program UTM coordinates.  I think they are more precise when plotting program to paper map  or paper to program.
    • I read about persons attaching their device to their thwart. selfie stick or whatever and imagine a lot of attention paid to the program.  I get it and I used to use my former gps receiver a ton.  And I missed stuff.  The problem is that the real skill is learning how to read the earth.  Gaia GPS is easy -- you look down on that map and see water all around the land....it is an island!  .  On the water, it's tougher. Is that an island or is it part of the shore line?  Where is the creek entrance? Can I find patterns and shapes in the shoreline, if I need to backtrack? What is the relation of scale and of contours to what I see?  Gaia GPS is my safety tool, but I don't want to keep my nose in it.
