This article covers troubleshooting steps for logging in and resetting your password on app and through the web.
Logging in via the app will re-direct you to a web-view where you will be encouraged to enter your Gaia GPS credentials. Your Outside and Gaia GPS account will share the same credentials.
Option to 'Snooze' Re-authentication
The new login flow was designed such that you can 'snooze' the need to re-authenticate for up to 28 days in the event that you are in the middle of an adventure. If you choose not to 'snooze' the re-authentication flow, you will not be able to return to that option and will have to re-authenticate with your Outside and Gaia GPS credentials.
On iOS:
- Under Sign-in, you'll see the option to click on 'More Options'
- Hit 'Snooze'
- You'll receive a pop-up message stating that you'll be reminded to log-in again; you have the option to 'snooze' the need to re-authenticate for up to 28 days.
- You'll have access to the map features, creating and saving a track; the blocking visibility to Only You and showing an alert is currently only available on iOS.
- If you try to change the visibility settings for your tracks, you will be prompted to sign in.
- Snoozed users in iOS do not have access to Privacy Settings, Home, Profile, or the Device Connection Hub.
On Android:
- Under Sign-in, you'll see the option to click on 'More Options'
- Hit 'Snooze'
- You'll be able to access the map, create, and record a track; as a snoozed Android user, you should see all 3 visibility settings for tracks: Everyone, Followers, and Only You.
- Snoozed users in Android do not have access to Privacy settings, Home. Profile or Device Connection Hub.
