Naming a waypoint during route creation.

When creating a route, when I "add" a waypoint there does not to be a way of editing the name or adding an icon to the waypoint?

 

Also how do you add a waypoint to a previously created route?

  You can add a waypoint to a route by clicking on one of the routepoints and then select the waypoint icon.You can also add new route points by clicking anywhere along your route.

  In order for that to work though your route has to be in Edit mode.

  

  After you're done adding the waypoint save your route again.
  Then, if you want to rename the waypoint just click it and choose "Edit"

  this doesn't seem to work. I am not able to edit waypoints within the route; only add and delete waypoints.  If I'm in route building mode, it won't let me switch to waypoint mode.

  J Rosen, I struggled also. But I just learned that I need to make the waypoint in edit route mode. Then save the route. Then click on the waypoint and then edit it and give it the right name. A bit clumbsy, but it seems to be working that way.
