I'm sorry using the Android Camera app caused an issue with your track recording.

Can you send your activity logs for Gaia GPS to support? Please open Gaia GPS > Settings > Other > Send Logs and someone will get back with you shortly.

I see that this is a 3 year-old comment, but I am also having this problem. I did find that most of the time, the issue is caused by starting the camera from the lock screen. However, I've also had several instances where the app simply stops tracking (no camera use). I'll be following the steps above to forward the logs.

    Hi there,

I'm sorry you are having issues recording your tracks in the app.

Can you check these settings on your phone to enable Gaia GPS to locate you during track recordings:

    1. Give the app permission to use your location services by going to your phone's settings> Applications > Gaia GPS > Permissions > toggle on Location.
    2. Then set your phone's location services for the app to "Device/GPS Only" Here is how to do that.
    3. Also, make sure your Battery Saver mode is set 'Off', this will affect your GPS signal.

If you are having problems with the app crashing during track recording, sometimes track recording can be stopped by the device's operating system if it thinks Gaia GPS is using too many resources.

    To avoid this we recommend:

    • Force closing all other applications that are running in the background
    • While recording, limiting your use of other memory heavy apps like Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, or games
    • Also not taking panoramic photos while recording

If you are having trouble taking photos outside the app, you can take photos within the app and have them saved to your iPhoto/Gallery.
    1. Change the app settings: Open Gaia GPS app > Settings > Storage > toggle on Save to Photo Photo Library or Save Photos to Gallery
    2. Take photos in the app:
