Why does Gaia Web think I'm in Wichita?
AnsweredEvery time I access gaia via a browser, it starts me at some lake by Wichita. I'm not anywhere close to Wichita. I've tried to look for settings to change this and even tried a VPN but nothing seems to change this. What gives? It's only mildly annoying, but it adds up.

Hi @houseofdyer,
I'm happy to help you set gaiagps.com to open on a specific location. You can always click the location button to bring the map to (near) your current location. However, this method relies on your IP address and may not bring the map as close or as far as you'd like.
As a workaround, I recommend bookmarking the website to open on a specific location like this:- Login to your account on gaiagps.com.
- Navigate to center the map on your desired home location.
- Bookmark this URL
- Make sure the URL includes "loc=xx/xxx/xxx"
- For example, here is Washington: https://www.gaiagps.com/map/?loc=7.0/-121.1153/47.1822&layer=GaiaTopoRasterFeet
- Access gaiagps.com through this bookmark from now on.
