Trail progress help
I just started using Gaia. Here is how I pictured it would work. I use the create trail option, snaps to existing trail, etc. I would expect it to make way point say maybe every .25 mile along that track, with a stop and end waypoint as well. Come time to hike, I push a start hike button based on that saved hike. As I hike, I can periodically turn on my phone, it will update my point on that trail, I can see how much I have left, how far I've gone etc, but this is based on occaionsoly GPS location, not a constant on situwation. Also how far to the next way point, or the final way point based on the pre planned route. Does this type of tracking exist? Seems like the way it is designed is you create a track and just look at where you are on the map. No real how far you've gone data based on the occionsal GPS locations based on the given track.
I see you have the record track, which stays on non stop and would drain the battery very quickly, and therefor not much good for long treks. Am I missing something? Thanks

We have a feature called Guide me that will show distance left along a trail. Here are the instructions to use it:
You can use Guide me without having to record a track, so it's less of a battery drain.
