I can't change active layers while designing a Route

Designing a Route involves switching between maps constantly (topo, satellite, street) to find the best tracks. The idea of only using one map and having to cancel the Route to change it is crazy. I now use Gaia only to toggle maps and I'm forced to create the route on another device. 

Gaia used to allow this.
