  Can you add some more details to your question, I’m not sure I understand. Is this on the web version? Is it a specific layer you are using? What screen are you on? A screenshot would be helpful also.

  I have the same question. I am using the web version and it this shows at the bottom of the route.
  
  For context, I am looking at this as a bikepacking route, so from looking at this the orange is steeper but does it also denote more challenging terrain ie. chunkiness of trail:
