I've been an iOS user for the last year and recently became an Android user of Gaia. I've been following the Beta updates to the Android app and see that it's been looking more and more like iOS each day, which is a good thing. It's still missing a few significant updates to get to where iOS is. Any chance we'll see these soon?
1. Waypoint Icons! The generic icons on Android are not very useful. It's extremely helpful having custom icons on the map! Having the icons aligned and synced with iOS and the Web is desperately needed.
2. Download Maps. The Android version you can't tell which areas you've already downloaded when you choose to download new maps like you can in iOS.
3. Small enhancement. Zooming in and out on the map (manually with pinch gestures) will knock you out of "Track current location/direction Mode". That is really annoying when your moving down a road and need to zoom in, only to realize it's no longer tracking your location. This was a problem on the iOS side last year but was resolved. The "Zoom In/Out" buttons on Android (at least the tablet version) don't seem to do this which is appreciated.
4. Functions along the top of the map are too close together. I'm not sure if this is an Android design constraint (still new to android) but those icons are small and it's really easy to accidentally hit the wrong button. Would be nice if these were spaced out more (like iOS).
Great job on the Android updates, keep them coming!! I've been spreading the word on Gaia in the ATV Side by Side communities but they are big time Android users so more refinement of the Android app will really help.
