iOS Apple Car Play Dev LifeCylce

I am wondering what the status is on feature enhancements, bug fixes, comparability to Android Auto GAIA functionality.   I have been using GAIA for Car Play for 1.5 years now and actually switched ecosystems from Google Pixel to an iPhone as at the time Android did not support GAIA on Android Auto yet.  To my luck a month or two after this beta was released and now to this day my work phone which is a google pixel 6A has GAIA on AA in GA now.  It is far superior to Apple Carplay in so many ways!  I'd say apple carplay GAIA is almost useless and also buggy as well.  Did GAIA loose their main Developer during the Outside acquisition or is there going to be some purpose driven changes soon?
