Snap to trail not working

I'm a new user and just tried creating a hiking route. On the first trail system I tried, snap to trail isn't working. But snap to trail works on this trail system on other platforms.

Does this feature only work on some trails? Is there any way to put in a request to have this feature added on a trail by trail basis?
