Can't access premium features

I just purchased a premium subscription.  When I log in on the Gaia website I have access to all premium features.  When I log in on the iPhone app I do NOT have access to premium features.  I have verified that I am logged in - when I look under settings I see my login email and it shows last sync just a moment ago.  When I try to add a layer(premium feature) I get a screen asking me to subscribe to premium.  I click on "I Already Purchased" and then "Restore Purchase".  This gives an indication saying "restoring purchases".  But still I have no access to premium features.  I have tried shutting down my iPhone, logging out and logging back in, but still no premium access.
