Android Auto app will overheat phone in about 30 minutes

When using the Android Auto app on my 2021 Tacoma my phone will overheat in about 30 minutes. Opening the phone app before opening the android auto app seem to correct the problem, but it must remain open to not over heat the phone. Would really like to solve this problem, but debugging data is needed to help understand what is going on?
