HAM Radio and Gaia
I stumbled across a method to map HAM radio repeaters into Gaia and thought I should share the info. If you go to Repeater Book and as in my case select a Province (State for the southern folks) then select 2m for example you get a list of repeaters in the province. If you select the option to map the results it asks you to choose Google Earth or Google Maps. I chose Google Earth and it gives me a KML file to download. I went into Gaia and imported the KML from Repeater Book and bam all the repeaters in my Province appeared on the map. Added bonus is in all the waypoint notes are the frequency and offset information. Not all repeater locations are accurate of course but close enough we should be able to use them. Perhaps HAM repeaters should become a map in Gaia but for now this simple hack works really well.

I do this as well. I go state by state and download by mode. Then I give each mode a unique icon and I can turn on the mode and state file I want for a given area when I use the program. Works well. I wish GMRS was a bit more centralized and organized as I would like to do this for that as well but no such luck.

I just tried this for the 2m repeaters in Rhode Island. When I imported into Gaia (Android), they all show up with the same latitude...in Somalia. I tested out importing the same file into Google Earth and it worked; all the waypoints are where they should be in RI.
Any tips? Did I screw something up?
