Maps Will Not Download on IOS
I'm just trying to get the Gaia Topo layer. I'm logged in to my premium account, but when I click to save a map it takes me to the progress screen and says "No Downloads in Progress". I can find the maps greyed out under my saved tab, but clicking "Resume Download" does nothing. I have good service. I've tried wifi and cellular. I've closed the app. I've removed and reinstalled the app. I've restarted my phone. Nothing works. This app is incredibly frustrating.

Check in map sources listing for that download that the layer is under “active”
I have found Gaia randomly inactivating layers that I have properly chosen.
This always occurs if you choose the command “show on main map” in my experience so never choose that.
I am actually running 12 layers in my map downloads for offline use.T

@peter.acker,
I am sorry you are having trouble downloading maps.
Please try the steps in this article and let me know if that resolves this issue for you?
Additionally, please try these things
- Map downloads require you to leave the app open on the screen (in the foreground) and leave your screen on for the map to download. Don't switch to another app or let your screen turn off, or it will pause the download. To stop your screen from turning off, open iOS Settings > Display and Brightness > Auto-lock > set to Never. To resume a paused download, see Pause/Resume Map Downloads on iOS.
- Turn on auto-resume so that map downloads will automatically resume if app is closed. Tap Settings > Map Download > Toggle on Auto-resume
If you have any further issues, please contact Support here.

For Gaia support employees-
I have a paid 5 year premium membership, the problems of downloading have persisted for me for more than two years.
The exact problems have persisted over that time, do you really think that is login defects, WiFi failures, or all the rest of the things you keep pointing at?
These are long term problems fundamental to programming defects.
Stop blaming users and blame yourselves first. And fix the programming defects. So your users might stay.2 -
I cant believe this. I have been trying to trouble hsoot this for every day for one week, using all the resources shared here. I cannot download maps for an off trail expedition I've been planning for a year. I have been a premium user for years. Why can't this super simple function, this basic product feature and value proposition, never be delivered on? The consequences of failure with this app are too large for me to continue using it, inferior as the other options are, they work.
Really disappointed

Echo all of the above complaints. Really went downhill when Outside took over.

While most of my experience with Gaia has been positive, offline map management has been the biggest headache. I had this same issue and doing an app uninstall and reinstall fixed the issue.
Also, for those who have 2 devices with the Gaia app… I don't recommend activating the “auto resume” option mentioned above. That will automatically try to sync all downloads across your devices. I personally have large state-wide basic maps on an Ipad for travel, and smaller areas and points of interest downloaded to my phone. If I activate auto resume, my phone tries to download 30 Gb of maps.0
