GAIA GPS slows and becomes unresponsive on Samsung Tablet (Android 8.1)
So my scenario is: GAIA GPS slows and becomes unresponsive on Samsung Tablet (Android 8.1) (Doing a 500ish mile trail a week ago or so).
It did this running offline with maps and tracks loaded locally on the device. I initially had 8 maps that I downloaded but they were way too large and just didn't work. I ended up using 2 maps, Gaia topo and Gaia Streets. I tried two scenarios, loading to the internal storage and then tried loading to the micro SD card, it didn't seem to make any speed difference but I decided to use internal storage rather than the SD card.
GAIA would randomly hang and would have to force quit the application, on occasion the tablet would have to be restarted to get Gaia to load. Occasionally the tablet would hang and have to be restarted. Initially I thought there was a tablet issue but every other app runs fine.
It got so bad that we had to come off of the trail and find a strong wifi signal. I downloaded the free trial of onX offroad, loaded the tracks and then downloaded the tracks and maps for offline use. It worked flawlessly.
Any thoughts on what is going on?
After we arrived home I deleted GAIA GPS and reloaded it. I don't yet know if that helped, I will report back when I can get out and drive around with it for a bit.

My old Samsung tablet would struggle and lock up. Just couldn't process the data. My new Samsung S7+ works great. It's running version 12. Could be the problem ?
