Revert to previous map source selector
Please revert to the map source selector as it was in versions up to 2022.3.
On the iPhone, the new selector pops up from the bottom of the screen but is only half-height. This either requires the user to scroll or to swipe up to see the full list of map sources (I have more than fit on the half-screen pop-up).
On the iPad it is worse still: The selector button is on the upper right corner of the screen, and the pop-up appears at bottom left corner, and again, only at half-height. Previously, the full menu was available just below the button, i.e., much much easier to access: No need to reach to the diagonally opposed corner of the screen. As on the iPhone, scrolling or sweeping up is necessary to see the full list.
This is clearly a much clumsier implementation than before. Keep in mind that UI tasks should always take the least amount possible of clicks, taps, and the like – and Gaia GPS is getting worse at this, not better.

EDIT:
In fact openstreetmap is still there, but you have to create a new mappack, and search for it. Super nice. But I stand by my point below, Gaia has become more complex. More clicks required for the same result.

It's more than just the map selector that has changed. We use to switch between maps (openstreetmap, outdoors, opencycleHD...). Now we switch between activities, "map packs" (Bike touring, fishing, hunting....).
It's more complex in some ways, and it offers more features. And the "upgrade to premium" seems to pop very often.
This is fine-ish, but having access to maps, i.e. openstreetMap is really a pity. Gaia is becoming more close. I miss the simple Gaia.

I’ve played with this a lot over the past week. I’m super activated with the number of clicks to adjust the transparency of layers and overlays. This is of principle importance when layering lots of data. I use this among other things for Search and Rescue and found the slope angle of particular importance when doing technical rescues. Adjusting the transparency is important to maintain context. I much preferred the old layer tray.
