I have had nothing but problems editing an imported map from Alltrails in gpx format in the online editor.
What I expected:
The trail would be automatically converted to tracks format both coming and going.
What I got:
When I first imported the map, I could 'edit' it by tediously adding track points along the existing trail. Snapping to trails only snapped to other trails. The interface is barely usable. To delete an erroneous point, you have to long click that point and select 'delete' from a menu. No keyboard shortcut to speed this up. After a half hour of doing this I decided to save the map and take a break. When I returned and tried to add points where I left off, the point I added was joined with some random point I had already added and not with the last point I added. Huh? So I next deleted the random point and the same thing happened with another previous point and so on. I exited the edit session without saving. I again tried to edit the map and this time I got a trail with a 'fan' of rogue lines attached to my trail. I could delete the end point of each rogue line but it got way too tedious and there was no guarantee that this would solve the original random join problem. I then gave up and re-imported the original gpx file and tried to edit that. I then got "Recorded tracks cannot be edited."
This app and site have been around for a while, so I expected by now a polished editing suite. I didn't get one.
