Import photos as waypoints / track

It would be immensely useful to be able to upload some geo referenced photos (those taken by any modern camera, phone, or drone) and have them create new waypoints. It would be even more helpful if each waypoint contained the photo that created it. For bonus points, a series of photos could also create a track.

I'm aware of this article but following the instructions there does not work.

  Hi,
   
  You can upload multiple georeferenced photos by adding them to a folder.
   

  1. Click the profile icon in the upper right > Folders > select a folder or create a new folder.
  2. On the folder details page, click the add photos button on the right side.
  3. Select your photos and upload them.

   
  This will create a waypoint for each photo.
