Disable "tray" on phone ap

I understand now we can select a few options for our tap (tap map can add waypoint, show the 'tray" etc) but this tray makes things cumbersome and kills functionality for some layers and features. 

For example: geology layer. I want to know what geo layer I'm on. Before this 'tray', taping the formation was gave a popup with the name of the geology formation. Now, it brings up a tray, which shows everything around it, so it has the names of multiple (sometimes as many as four!) geology formations with no colour coding to match the map layer or anything, so it is pure guesswork and no way to actually know. 

I would like the ability to change the tap back to how it was - pop up of the name of the icon, layer, boundary, whatever you clicked on. It was far more functional than this 'tray'.
