AnsweredI'm new to Gaia and have and iPad 2 that does not have on board GPS. What is the best option? An external GPS, buy a new tablet? Recommendations?

Hi there,
Thanks for using Gaia GPS.
An external GPS unit should work to add GPS capability to a wifi-only iPad. Here is some additional information about using an external GPS: Using External GPS Devices with Gaia GPS (Dual XGPS, Bad Elf, etc.)
However, depending on how old your iPad is, it may not be able to run the latest versions of Gaia GPS. The Gaia GPS app requires iOS 13 or higher.
Here's how to check which versions of iOS can be installed on your iPad: https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/supported-models-ipad213a25b2/ipados
If your iPad cannot run at least iOS 13, then I would recommend a newer model to make sure you can run the latest app versions.
