Android Auto pan & zoom
While I appreciate having another additional mapping app available on Android Auto - and one that has many offline features - there are still many limitations.
Can pan & pinch to zoom be implemented ASAP? It is so bizarre for a mapping app not to have either of these two crucial features. I should be able to pan freely and zoom in or out as much as I want. At the very least, please implement a regular +/- zoom button. The current button with 3 zoom levels is far too limited to be useful in most cases.
It would also be nice to have an in-app settings toggle for Android Auto day/night mode. I have to use the global setting for day/night mode in AA settings. The dark mode for Gaia GPS on AA is just a dark tint that makes it hard to read anything, so I'd like day mode all the time for Gaia GPS AA but all other map apps can be auto day/night mode.

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to write in about this.
I have passed along your feedback to the Engineers for consideration in future updates.Unfortunately, due to the inherent risks of using a screen while operating a vehicle, Google employs strict restraints on how apps behave in Android Auto. As a result, it's not possible to:
- Pan the map away from your location
- Tap on items on the map
Here is some additional information about using Android Auto: Gaia GPS and Android Auto

Hi Zach, thanks for the update.
That is disappointing to learn that it is a mostly Google limitation with Android Auto apps.
At a minimum, I would suggest trying to implement at least a plus and minus zoom button with 5 zoom levels. When traveling in certain areas, that simple improvement would help out quite a bit when I want to see in more detail or see more of an overview of the route/area.
