Public/Private Permissions and Photo viewability from shared link
I typically like to keep my data to myself. However, occasions come up where I'd like to share a folder (and everything in that folder) with somebody, and I enjoy using the "share a link" feature of GAIA. However, I'm finding that even if I share a private folder with someone via a link, they cannot see any of the pictures that I've taken. The waypoint marker for the picture appears but, not the picture itself. Upon changing the folder access to public, the pictures still cannot be seen. As it turns out, switching the folder's access settings does not affect the private/public setting for anything inside the folder, including photos. Only after manually switching each picture from Private to Public can they be seen by someone with a link to the folder. Confused? Me too. But, there's more! In this situation, waypoints have always been able to be seen when the folder is shared via link, regardless of folder privacy settings, and with all waypoints themselves being marked as private.
1) Shouldn't a link to a folder provide access to everything in that folder (including especially in this case the photos)?
2)If a folder is marked as public, shouldn't permissions for everything in that folder follow the folder's permission settings? Then, if a user wants to selectively make items private they can do so on an individual basis.
Please assist!

If anyone is looking to help or is from GAIA, I am also seeing a lack of sync across my iOS GAIA app and GAIAGPS.COM. This could potentially be the source of the problem. If indeed the source of the issues, I would still find it sub-standard to force sync my iOS device multiple times, then refresh my GAIAGPS website page and not see those changes made on my iOS to the website in "near real time".
