Here’s a feature request which would significantly increase the value proposition of your service:
Include trail preparedness recommendations / and warnings based on the current conditions in a trail’s location. Here in California we’ve seen too many cases of people unfamiliar with how to prepare for or avoid hyper/hypothermia ending up dead or narrowly avoiding death. Even some of us who have been frequent hikers for decades sometimes grow complacent or simply oblivious to prevailing or upcoming conditions sometimes. It would be amazing if your app would include a panel of recommendations or a warning when conditions were particularly dangerous.
When I get to the trailhead and open the app and see “recommended: 2L water per person, minimum” or “recommended: dangerous temps for furry friends!” or “recommended: stay off trail, extreme heat and risk of death” or “recommended: perfect conditions, lace up and go!” - this would be fantastic.
Please pass this along to your product managers who I’m sure may be already considering something like this. I would absolutely pay for this and would recommend the app wholeheartedly to others.
