Rectangular/Free-form Selection of waypoints/features on map
I would like to delete a bunch of waypoints that are all next to each other in an area (say 100) - currently the only way to do that is to select each one individually and delete them.
There should be a selection tool where you can select everything you want (tracks, waypoints, routes, etc) in an area of your choosing and then perform actions on that group (e.g. move them all to a folder, delete them all, export them as a KML, etc)

Just the ability to select any item (waypoint, road, track) that is inside (or touches) a selection rectangle would be very useful in organizing data that has been created or imported. For example:
If I am preparing a trip, i add a bunch of waypoints to the map, some routes, maybe import something from trailsoffroad etc. Of course I'd like all these to end up in a folder "my may 2022 trip" etc.
I can either tediously move each item manually to that folder. Or, preferably, make a rectangular selection, get all selected items on the left hand sidebar, select all, move to folder.

I totally agree we need a rectangular selection tool for selecting multiple waypoints and tracks on gais .com is necessary similar to what you can do in garmin mapsource program for windows
there is a workaround for this in Gaiagps .com but it's really janky and frustrating .
it gets very tricky if everything that you want is very close together
sometimes it doesn't work at all if you wanna try it
simply hold down control key
select the first waypoint all other features will Gray out
keep holding the control key
then carefully zoom and select additional waypoints or or tracks one after another being very careful not to click off the features or you will lose what you have selected all the items that you have selected will be visible and not grayed out you must click on the exact correct point
I would recommend doing this in small batches that way you don't have to start over from scratch again
the waypoint list will appear in the left hand sliding menu pops out but it shows all waypoints and not just the ones that you have selected which sucks
once you have a selection made select add to folder in the sidebar create or use an existing folder
good luck with this
