Using Gaia GPS in Canada

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Gaia Topo is available both in feet and meters and covers the world including Canada.

    Additionally, if you have a Premium Membership there are several Canada specific maps, you can check them out here:

     

    Also, how does Gaia GPS works when you are outside cell coverage?


    As long the device you're using is GPS enabled, the Gaia GPS app will continue to locate you and record if you are recording a track.  However, an internet connection is required to refresh the map as you move.

    If you have a Premium Membership, maps can be downloaded in advance for offline use.

    Gaia works great in Canada (I used it in Quebec).

    Offline, you must first download your maps. Once back online, your tracks will automatically, amid a certain delay, be uploaded on your Gaia profil and be visible on all your devices.

    La carte par défaut (Gaia topo) est très bien. J'ai téléchargé Canada Topo du NRCAN mais la carte est désuète  et n'apporte rien de plus que GaIa Topo.

    Bonjour,

     

    Dans les cartes Premium, j'utilise BRMB (Back Road Map Book).  Elles sont lourde mais très détaillées.  Ils ont des cartes pour les rando à pied autant que pour les sports motorisés.
