Turn off Apple CarPlay auto zoom

The Apple CarPlay auto zoom feature is useless and completely annoying.  It auto zooms in to the smallest range with almost any action I take.

Literally I zoom out to the range I want to see on the map and sometimes CarPlay will zoom back in for no reason. 

Just because I search for a waypoint, start recording a track, or do another task, does not mean I want to be re-zoomed to a different level.
