Choose between exporting as route or track

Please make it possible choose whether a file is downloaded as a track or route, irrespective of how the gpx is created in gaiagps. Reason: I use gaiagps to plan hikes and then export the gpx to my garmin device. However, garmin reads it as a route, which is not rather annoying for hiking. A track would be way better.

  I recently purchased a Garmin Zumo and had the same difficulty.  After some research, I discovered the easiest why to convert a GAIA Route to a track that can be imported into a Garmin device was to import the .GPX file into Garmin Basecamp, right mouse click on the route and select "convert selected route to a track".  I then delete the GAIA route from Basecamp, connect my zumo and transfer the new track to my Zumo.
