SD Card and Map issue
I recently added an SD card to my Tab A and all went well. I was able to format the card and change the root folder. All was great till I started downloading maps. For some reason I can not tap and alter the red map selection screen and when I cancel the red selection screen stays on the map till I close and re open the app. I can download whatever block is in the red selection box but have no way to change it's size or orientation.

This is a coincidence. I searched here to find a solution to this same problem. It may be that your sd card is too big. I put in a 512gb card, and I think it may be affecting the performance. I will experiment with smaller cards. Good luck and report any solutions you find. I have the same tablet, too.

So I managed to get some usability last night. Mostly by mashing buttons lol. If I hit download then cancel several times, eventually I would get an adjustable red rectangle. However the other cancelled rectangles were still on the screen under neath so it made it difficult to be too precise. Loaded all of Oregon last nightGaia topo) now working on Oregon(USGS). Good luck!

Well that is some progress I guess. I also sent in the question to Gaia itself but have heard nothing back. Did you try the smaller cards? Maybe this is how it works with cards but that seems wrong. Maybe a Samsung problem since we have the same devices. We need to hear from someone with the problem on a different device.

I haven't tried the smaller cards yet since ive had some success. I have read in different places that bigger cards can tax the processor on these devices. Im going to keep at it and then find out whether or not the maps actually work in the field. I loaded several hundred gigs of maps onto the garmin(earthmate) app and it made it virtually unusable. We shall see.
