I am experiencing the same problem. Makes it nearly impossible to use the map. Maybe they will fix it.

    Sorry for the trouble.

Can you try toggling off/on WiFi Assist to fix this issue:

    • Open your phone's Settings app> Cellular > Scroll down to the bottom and look for Wi-Fi Assist>Toggle off/on a few times.

If that does not help, you may need to reset your iPhone network settings:

    • From your phone's Settings app, tap General> Reset> Reset Network Settings> If prompted, enter your passcode and Reset Network Settings again.

I found another work around... close Gaia app. Then open safari and login to gaiagps.com. It will prompt you to open the app. Click to open app from safari.

Thanks, Travis, this simple approach shook loose my Gaia iOS app, which wouldn't sync or otherwise play nicely. 5/11/22.

Be careful about how you set up cellular data unless you have a cellular plan with unlimited data.

Downloading map data via cellular can eat your data limits very quickly.

Had this problem on a new iPad pro. Shutting own and then restarting the iPad solved the issue.

    Hey drjbingham,

I feel your frustration with that incessant "No Internet Connection" error message while you're up in the mountains. It's like an overeager parrot repeating the obvious, right? But fear not, there might be a solution to your predicament!

Firstly, let's check if it's a simple glitch. Try restarting your iOS device and the Gaia app. Sometimes, that can magically resolve such issues - https://andersenlab.com/services/iot-development-services

If that doesn't work, delve into the app's settings. You might find an option related to notifications or connectivity alerts. Disabling or adjusting these settings could potentially silence Gaia's constant reminders.

Another trick is to put your device in Airplane Mode temporarily. This might stop Gaia from seeking a connection and prevent those notifications.

Lastly, ensure your Gaia app is up to date, as newer versions often come with bug fixes.

As for my experience, I've encountered similar issues before, and the above steps have proven helpful.
