Tracking quality decreasing during a hike
Android user and have been using Gaia with no issues for a few years. Latest trip had a new behavior manifest. Multi day hiking trip in Olympic Mts., WA state. Tracks were normal until later in the day, when the tracking interval became a long distance, resulting in long, straight line segments with infrequent location acquisition. When I stopped moving, Gaia would always acquire current location right away, even when it had stopped recording for a period of time prior.
Using downloaded Gaia Topo maps with route finding data. No cell service, location enabled, no power saving mode on. Plenty of storage space on device. Same setup I've been using all along.
First day it happened, it started about noon. Next day it happened later in the day, about 5 pm. Third day it happened mid afternoon, about 3:45 pm. Same situation all three days - I checked the satellite fix and had plenty of satellites. Was at alpine elevation with clear exposure to southern sky. No timber, no cloud cover.
No issues the other three days of the trip, two days of which were through deep, old growth forest and rain forest.
Would welcome any thoughts on this issue.

Seconding this issue on multiple iphones throughout the past year or two. While tracking, the location arrow would not show the current location, but would be stuck on a previous location, and then would infrequently re-center itself to the correct location. Heading would remain accurate. Very, very frustrating when navigating through intersections and having to back track. I have brought this up with customer service multiple times with no fix.
This must be a bug in the software as it happens across multiple platforms.
