Everything disappeared off my iPhone, mid hike BTW

When I was hiking and recording a track, something happened to Gia.   I've been using Gia for many years now and have lots of way points and tracks, but suddenly it all disappeared.  

At one point I realized Gia was not recording anymore and it appeared my phone was low on storage, so I removed an unrelated app I was not using to free some up space.  Going back to Gia again I then realized all my tracks, way points, downloaded maps, etc are all gone.  I tried to re-login and that did not help.  After the hike I checked the web site and everything is there, even part of that day is on the site.  I again tried the login but no luck. How do I get my phone working again?
