Search function not working

I am using Safari on my desktop Mac and the search bar is unresponsive.  Type in search bar and nothing happens.  Did something change?

  iOS user here. Not working for me either. I get a pop up that says “Operation Failed. Check your internet connection and try again later”.

  Internet connection is fine.

  Search function appears to now be back and working properly on my Mac.  Hope it stays.

  Sorry for the trouble.  There was a temporary service outage with search results.  It should be working again now.  Please try closing and re-opening the app or refreshing the web page.
