Why is there now a camera button on the top of the primary navigation screen?
AnsweredMy tablet just did an upgrade to a newer Gaia version. There are two obvious changes. The record button is now much more visible (which I really like). But there is a camera button immediately to the right of it. Which means there is a 50/50 chance that you will hit it instead of record.
Who uses a nav system to take pictures? Aren't you going to get a picture of either the roof or the dashboard (depending on whether you have the tablet mounted up high or down lower)?
Is there a way to remove this button from the screen? Certainly appears to be a waste of primary space for such a low value function. Imagine if the compass was located there instead (rather than the tiny current display)?

Hey @sbarr,
Yes, a camera was recently added to the record button in the Android app. This matches the record button in the iOS app.
Many folks take photos on hikes or while doing fieldwork and enjoy having easy access to the camera.
It is not possible to remove the camera from the record button.
You can remove the Record/Camera button from the stats bar by following these steps:I have passed along your feedback to the Engineers for consideration in future updates.
