For the last 3 years I have been using Ride with GPS for bicycle routes and tracks. For hunting, fishing and general exploring I have been using OnX. On X in particular seems to be youthful, modern and and very advanced technically. And On X is rapidly expanding into many other GPS lifestyles - soon they may be the go-to app for any GPS mapping use. I still use GAIA but its less and less frequent every month.

Thanks for the suggestion for a replacement app. Once my subscription runs out I will be looking for a similar app backed by a developer that listens to customer input.

Discusses the lack of responsiveness and updates in the Gaia GPS app despite user requests for more waypoint icon choices. It highlights the disappointment of users who pay for subscriptions and recommend the app to others, yet see minimal progress in incorporating new features.

One could draw a parallel concerning the "rice purity test", which is a self-graded survey that assesses how "pure" or innocent someone's life or experiences have been. Just as the Gaia GPS app seems to score low on user satisfaction due to its slow response to feature requests, one might humorously compare its performance to a low score on the "rice purity test" – indicating room for improvement and a need for more proactive development to meet user expectations and satisfaction.
