gaia won't drop a pin in the field

When I am in the mountains and tap Add Waypoint (my location) or just Add Waypoint no pin shows up.

  Hi @skentch,
  
  Thanks for using Gaia GPS and writing in about this. There is an issue in the app which causes new waypoints filed to a folder to not display on the map.
  
  I have an open bug report for this issue and we’re continuing to track it in our system, but unfortunately, don’t have an ETA on when you can expect a fix.
  
  In the meantime, to make your waypoints visible in the app: tap Saved > tap on the folder containing the waypoints > tap on one of the new waypoints > tap on the map > tap "Show on Main Map."
  
  This should then make all the new waypoints in that folder visible on the map
  
  I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  We'll email you as soon as we have a fix.
