Recording a track during a section hike

I’ll be hiking segments 25-28 of The Colorado Trail this summer, approximately 70 miles over a period of five days). Would it be best to record a new track for each day of hiking or should I record a single track for the entire section hike. I guess there could be pros & cons of each. Any thoughts?

  Hello Jarrod:

  I prefer to record separate tracks each day just in case I foul something up along the way.  I'm only risking a single day's track instead of the whole trip.  I don't know how I manage it, but it seems like I'm able to stop recording without saving once or twice a month.  Usually happens when I try to multitask with my phone - take photos outside of GAIA, answer a phone call, etc.  Then I forget to make sure GAIA is still recording.  Definitely "user error" but still a bother.
