Creepy Emails

Gaia just emailed to congratulate me on my hike yesterday. Automated pats on the back from Big Brother are exactly the type of things I hike to get away from. WTF? Seriously, this is a really dumb and intrusive "feature".

  I suggest taking a good read of the new terms of use and privacy policy that comes into effect on August 1, as more of this kind of thing rather than less is in our future if we remain Gaia subscribers ...

  At the very least, I think this should be an opt-in feature, not an opt-out feature. I've sold dozens of people on the benefits of Gaia, but OnX is starting to get a second look from me. 3d content is apparently in the works, where as Gaia has been clear that they have no current plans for that capability.
