route elevation profile

I hope this makes sense:)

I can go ahead and create a route on my MacBook pro.  Once created,  I can click on the route and it will bring up an elevation profile to that route.  When I select a point on the elevation profile it will also show it on the main map.  When I scroll along the elevation profile, it will also scroll along the route on the main map.  It’s a handy feature to see where you are on the route and what elevation is like for the rest of the hike.

I do not get this feature when I use the app on my iPhone 14pro.  I can select or create a route on my phone and scroll the elevation profile but the locations do not appear on my map.  Am I missing a particular setting or is this feature not available on the phone app?
