Is there a way to improve tracking of maybe adding more frequency of logging tracks

I am sorry if this question has been asked before.
First let me say that my Gaia app is my go-to app when hiking. I cannot find anything better.

However, I find that when it comes to snowmobiling this app is not very reliable.
It does not leave a good breadcrumb trail that resembles my track at all.
It leaves straight line from the start to the next point that could be a mile away.
Is there any way to improve the accuracy and get a good breadcrumb trail?

This is not a phone issue because there are other GPS apps that I have tried that follow my trail perfectly.
Is there a setting in the Gaia app that I can change for this?
