I keep seeing these comments regarding Apple Health integration being marked as completed. This has not been completed in the sense that most of us use the app. I use the app on my phone. Your solution was to create a separate watch app. That doesn't solve our problem.

While some who use the app may have a watch, myself included, we don't want to use a separate watch app to track our hikes. The watch battery will not last on most of my hikes. My phone has better battery life than my watch. I use and will continue to use my phone to track my hikes.

I've used numerous GPS hiking apps over the years and once Healthkit was introduced they all added it to their apps. Why hasn't Gaia GPS done this? Why is your solution a separate watch app? When will Gaia GPS add the integration?

I’m president of a 200+ members of a popular hiking club in Quebec Laurentides area. We provide more than 75 trails and published them with Gaia GPS and Wikiloc ! My personal preference is Gaia but most of our member are switching to Wikiloc principally for the integration with Apple Health ! I do not understand Gaia développers for not doing like everyone! The independent Gaia app for Apple Watch is useless! GPS strength signal is to week and interface is very limited due to a small screen !

It should be fairly straightforward to adapt the app that works on Apple Watch to work on an iPhone. The Apple family of operating systems are relatively similar, so once one of them is working, the rest should be easy to adapt.
