Directional distance markers

When the route returns along the same path, the distance markers for each direction are conflated:

It would help if the markers were e.g. arrows instead of circles so you could determine the direction of travel they're measuring.

  I agree, directional arrows are needed for multiple reasons: differentiate overlapping tracks or routes, know starting ending direction (more critical on a loop) and the suggestion above.

  I agree.  In fact, so much that I subscribed to Scenic app.  Not quite as good mapping overlays but it does give direction route indicators and the app is really easy to read.
